Fall Celebrations: Retirements and New Team Members

If you keep an eye on the Greystone Blog, you already know that it’s been a big fall here at camp! We’ve gotten to thank four year-round team members who are retiring from their camp work, as well as welcome four new folks to our year-round crew. We know you’ll want to join us in the celebrations, so here’s a look at some of the fun!

Celebrating Katie, Diane, Jamie, and Meredith

We announced Katie’s retirement from Junior Camp and The Greystone Store last fall, and it’s been a bittersweet year reflecting on the enormous impact she’s had on Greystone. The Alumnae Reunion gave the perfect opportunity to mark the occasion with so many people who love and admire Katie.

At the Banquet on Saturday night, Jimboy and Margaret got up to recognize the many alumnae who have worked at Junior Camp, Meredith Bird, who is stepping back after serving as our Junior Camp Program Director for the last four years, and of course, Katie, who has led Junior Camp since its inception. There were standing ovations all night long and not a dry eye in the house as Jimboy presented his sister with a few beautiful, sentimental gifts to take to her new home in Hiawassee, GA. We also got to recognize Laura Hollowell for 50 years at Greystone! It was certainly a Banquet to remember.

Our year-round team has celebrated three other retirements this fall, both wonderful friends who have served camp faithfully for over 20 years. Diane Culler retired from her role as Admissions Director after the summer, and Jamie Hutchinson is stepping away from her duties as Head Nurse at the end of the year. The impact these two have had on Greystone is enormous, and we know we speak for everyone when we say they will be dearly missed, but we are excited to cheer them on in this exciting new chapter!

Alums, we know you love these four as much as we do, and we’d encourage you to reach out to them to share how they made your Greystone experience better. Need contact information? Just reach out to us - we’d be happy to connect you!

Welcoming Molly, Meyers, Khaki, and Tucker

Of course, retirements also mean new hires! Turnover on our year-round team is rare, so it’s been especially exciting to welcome four new teammates to Greystone this fall.

Molly Crane is our new Administrative Director. A current camp mom, she brings years of school administration experience to her role at camp, where she’ll be focusing on camper admissions, Wait Lists, tours, and lots of other behind-the-scenes details that help camp run smoothly. Call the office, and you’ll likely hear Molly’s friendly voice!

Meyers Massey is stepping into our Marketing and Media Coordinator role. She’ll have her hands in just about everything that says “Greystone,” and we can’t wait for you to see the impact she has on our mailings, photography, social media, and more. If you send Greystone a DM, it’ll be Meyers on the other side, so make sure to say hi!

Khaki Paschall is our Staff and Administrative Coordinator this year. After serving on staff this summer, we just couldn’t let her go, and she is spending the year diving into staff recruiting, camper connection, and other fun projects to connect our mission to everything we do. You might just see Khaki out and about at a college near you this year!

Tucker Massey is our new Maintenance Director, and if that last name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s married to Meyers! Tucker cares deeply about people and projects, making him a great fit to lead our Maintenance team as they work to maintain Greystone’s property and keep it safe and beautiful. Wave to Tucker when you see him on Opening Day!

As you can see, between the “thank yous” and the “welcomes,” it has been a fall full of joy here in Tuxedo. Join us in the celebrations as we move forward to our 107th year; to God be the glory!
