Hello new camper families! This is our last New Camper Blog Series post before summer, and we are counting down the days until we get to welcome your girls to Greystone. Whether you’ve been following along all spring or are just jumping in, take a quick scroll through our New Camper Blog Series archive; there are so many posts that answer the “how does that work?” questions that always pop up right before you send your daughter to camp.
Looking for a few final, last minute reminders to help you feel ready? Today, we’ve got you covered!
Print the packing list and start early: Give yourself time to gather things, wash/label/organize, and avoid the last minute stress.
Label everything: We aren’t kidding: everything! If it can walk away (or accidentally find its way into the Lost and Found), label it.
Set up your photo plan: Make sure you’re ready for summer photos by signing up for photo facial recognition and know how to log in to your account. You’ll love seeing photos of your daughter during her session!
Talk through a few “camp skills” with your daughter: These are small but mighty: asking for help, speaking up, trying again, being kind when tired, and remembering that camp is going to be so much fun (even if it takes a day or two to settle in).
Prep for Opening Day (especially that goodbye!): Opening Day is wonderful, but remember, it moves really fast (as we mentioned in quite a few of our New Camper Blogs this spring). A quick goodbye is one of the best gifts you can give your camper.
Write a couple letters now (even if you’ll email later): Your camper will love receiving letters from you. Send some actual snail mail! You can even drop off pre-written letters on Opening Day.

One final reminder Your daughter is going to have the best summer with us at Greystone - it is just so much fun. Be encouraging and remind her how much fun she will have; hearing that from you will go a long way in making her feel ready for camp.
You’re almost here, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the Greystone family.
See you soon!
