New Video: Scheduling - New Camper Blog Series

Welcome back, new camper families! We’re so glad you’re joining us for another week of the New Camper Blog Series. If this is your first New Camper Blog of the season, be sure to read back through our blog archives; we have posts from previous years with tons of helpful new-family tips.

Today is especially fun because we’ve got a brand new video to share with you that explains everything you need to know about Scheduling. With over 70 activities at Greystone, we hope every camper finds her niche here at camp, and this video helps you understand exactly how Scheduling will work.

What this video will explain

Scheduling looks a little different depending on your session, and we cover it all:

Junior Camp: Junior campers jump right into classes and take seven different classes every day (check out the options for this summer by scrolling to the final page in this doc). Because of the shortened time-frame of the Junior session, campers “sample” the full mix of our class offerings with their cabin group. Because of this, Junior campers won’t need to schedule their classes. They will find out their class schedule when they arrive on Opening Day.

June, Main, and August Camp: For these sessions, campers schedule their classes on Opening Day with their counselors. Your daughter’s counselor will help her create a schedule with a great mix of what she’s excited to try at camp (check out the options for this summer).

A few other helpful things we explain in the video:

  • How the daily schedule works for each session (June vs. Main vs. August).
  • Why it’s smart to send your daughter with a short list of classes she is interested in taking.
  • How grade limits work for certain activities (most classes are open to everyone!).

The good news: if your daughter ends up wanting to change a class after trying it for a day or two, switching is possible, and we explain how.

A simple way to prep before you watch

Before you hit play, ask your daughter: “If you could try ANY 5 - 7 classes at camp this summer, what would they be?” (If you need to look through the options first, check out our class offerings).

Grab a fun snack and enjoy our Scheduling video below! And, if you have any questions after watching, please reach out; we’re always happy to help.
