Last Minute Tips - New Camper Blog Series

It is hard to believe that this is the last of our New Camper blog posts! Camp starts in just a few days, and we are so excited to welcome you to Greystone.

What last minute advice do we have to make this summer the best ever? Here you go…

  • Smile a lot! Despite your excitement (or nerves), a smile will take you a long way on Opening Day and throughout your session. Smile and introduce yourself…it’s the best way to make friends.

  • Try something new. Whether a new class or participating in a new activity, camp is a great place to try something you’ve maybe never done before. And, how cool to tell your friends and family at home that you jumped off our Leap of Faith, hopped on a horse, or dressed up crazy for a cabin skit!

  • Be kind. We talk about this a lot at camp (the “secret” of Greystone is unselfishness), but just going out of your way to be kind to those around you (starting on the first day of camp) will make you the person everyone wants to be around!

  • Get ready for our Great Day camp attitude. We encourage you at Breakfast Club each morning to clap your hands and claim that it is going to be a Great Day every day! Camp is a great place to practice claiming the great things God has for you each day and seeing the blessings all around you.

  • Have fun! Probably don’t even need to mention this one, but you are going to have SO MUCH FUN at camp…get ready!

New campers, we truly cannot wait for you to arrive…YOU are the missing part to make this summer the best. We have a bunk saved just for you, a counselor picked out just for you, and have planned the best summer activities ever. You are going to love your cabin, love your classes, and love all of the fun stuff we have in store. Summer 2016…here we come!
