Orientation

Orientation is going to be here SOON, and we know it’s on your minds as well as ours. We want you to feel prepared and confident coming into the summer, and that stems from knowing what’s ahead, so we’ll be giving you lots of details about Orientation in the next month!

For now here are a few things that you can expect as you think about that (fun, crazy, information-packed) week.

  • We’ll be following our COVID policies from the moment you get here so we can all practice for when our campers arrive. And yes, that means no running tackles or hugs when you see each other (we know, we’re sad too!) - we’ll let you know the best way to greet your old and new friends before you get here.
  • That being said, since there are so many of you (!!), coming from all areas of the country, we’re going to be just a little more cautious in the first few days. No one wants to get COVID right when they get to camp!
  • So what will that look like? We’re going to get you plugged in to your Orientation cabin right away, and just as in the summer, your cabin will serve as your Family, so you won’t need to worry about masks or distancing while you are together. (And if you hadn’t heard, yes, you’ll be in a cabin with other counselors for Orientation, and it is the best thing ever!) Family groups will stay physically distanced during Orientation to be extra cautious. You’ll be spending lots of time with your Orientation cabin, so you can get comfy.
  • We are going to get creative to make sure you can mingle within our staff group and meet new people in a safe way - that is one of the best parts about Orientation! Unvaccinated staff should plan to mask up any time you’re within 6ft of another staff member outside of your Family.
  • Look out for lots more details about what to expect during Orientation in our May Staff Newsletter, but for now just know that it’s a week packed with tons of information and a whole lot of fun. We want you to end the week feeling completely confident in the job you’re here to do and excited to jump in. We’ll take care of all the details - you just bring your sweet self!
