Hey everyone! I’m Mpho Simone, a fourth-year student at the University of South Africa, majoring in Communications, English and Media studies. When I’m not busy with uni work, you can find me exploring the great outdoors, trying out new craft projects, volunteering at church, trying out new restaurants or travelling. I’m absolutely stoked to be joining the amazing team at Camp Greystone this summer as a Glass Arts counselor! Can’t wait to share my passion for art with the girls and make some unforgettable memories. Bring on the campfires, craft sessions, and all the laughs!
A few things I love: I’m all about vibing with friends over braais, getting lost in a good book, and road-tripping to secret spots. When I’m not exploring, you’ll find me trying out new recipes in the kitchen, or volunteering at church
When I have an hour of free time, I like to… Spend time journaling and reflecting on God’s word, or listen to worship music and let it soak in. Sometimes I’ll craft a DIY project or take a quiet walk, just soaking up God’s creation.
Something you would’nt guess about me I’m totally a night owl! Give me a quiet night with a book or project, and I’m in my element. Suprised?
The one thing that makes any day better A quiet moment where God’s presence just feels super close
Favorite Evening Program? Talent shows and dancing around the fire pit
The camp food I can’t wait to eat is… Hotdogs
Item that I MUST bring to Camp with me: My Bible and journal
The song that describes me: I give myself away by William McDowell
My favorite cheesy joke Why did the coffee file a police report?… It got mugged
At camp I’ll be the one… Sitting by the fire pit after work hours, journaling under the stars, and soaking in the peace
Come find me if… If you’re ever in need of a hand, I’m just a shout away, ready to jump in and help out! Let’s tackle it together!
I wanted to work at Greystone because… I’m excited to join Greystone for its Christian foundation and dedication to empowering young girls in their faith. With my passion for mentoring and discipleship, I believe I would be a great fit and look forward to contributing to a values-driven camp
The best thing about camp will be Watching the girls grow, laugh, and find their spark
