Ready to meet another member of our year-round team?
Say hello to Laura (or LaLa, as her grandchildren call her!). She has been at camp for decades and has the notebooks of knowledge to prove it! Her husband, Gervais, and her daughter, Leland, run our incredible Kitchen and together they will make sure you are prepared and well-fed all summer long.
Hear from Laura in the video below and make sure to read her Q+A for a few more fun facts. You can even to her today!
March means camp is getting closer, and this month, you have a few important tasks to check off your list. Don’t worry - they’re fun ones!
March is also a good time to make sure your notifications have been turned on in GroupMe and that you’ve marked our emails as “important” so that they don’t get sent to spam. We’ll send you more information and announcements as the summer approaches, so stay tuned!
Our 2026 spaces are almost full, but we are still hiring for a few key areas. Take this as your PSA to spread the word with your friends - there’s still time for them to join you this summer!
We’ll teach you everything you need to know once you get here, but if you want a head start, we’ve compiled lots of basic, need-to-know information about Greystone on this page. It’s a great reference point if you have questions or are wondering about something!
The New Staff page has lots of information, including…
We love this question! But before we give any actual advice, we want you to take a deep breath and know that we think you are going to do a GREAT job this summer even without our advice - that’s why we hired you! At the end of the day, being a great counselor isn’t complicated. All we ask of you is that you love our campers and buy into the vision of what we get to do here (love campers, love God, have fun!). The rest is just small details.
So to the actual advice part:
We know that you’ll have more questions as the summer gets closer, and we want to make it easy for you to get the answers you need. Enter our Question and Answer Form!
If you have a question about the summer (big or small), fill out this quick form to send it our way. We’ll then be in touch the next business day with an answer. We may also share that answer with the whole group - you’re likely not the only one wondering about that topic!
The Staff Manual is your go-to place for all the details you’re wondering about. This month is a fun one - we’ve added sections on spiritual growth, time off, self-care at camp, and packing!
This month is the perfect time to start praying for the people you’ll be working with all summer long - your fellow staff members! No one knows better about how to pray for them than you, because you are feeling and experiencing all the same things.
Pray for the group as everyone is in the middle of their school semester and starts to turn their eyes towards the summer. Pray for the friendships that will form when you’re here and that everyone will find a sense of belonging during their time at camp. Pray for excitement and that the Lord would prepare each heart for the work He’s going to do through you here. Pray that He would use everything you do this summer for His glory most of all.
Pro tip: use the Staff Profiles to go through and pray for each other by name!
“Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood — may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.” Hebrews 13:2-21
