Emmalyn Purcell

Archery and Photography

1st year on staff

Hey there! I’m Emmalyn, but most everyone calls me Emmie. I’m a doula, competitive archer/coach, and part of a family agritourism business in South Texas. I am so excited to spend the summer at Greystone, and I can’t wait to grow and serve alongside so many fabulous staffers and campers!

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23

Personal Interests: Too many to list! I love shooting (archery and photography :)) baking, reading, crafting, gardening, spinning (especially alpaca fiber,) and anything that involves music, games, family, friends, or just being outside in God’s creation!

When I have an hour of free time, I like to… get some archery practice in, curl up with a good book or show, go on a walk, or put on music and enjoy some time in the kitchen!

Something you wouldn’t guess about me: I love making cheese! My favorites are paneer, queso fresco, and mozzarella! (If you’ve never stretched mozzarella, it’s like silly putty/play dough, but for adults!)

The emoji that describes me: According to my sister, the happy face with wavy hands in front.

The one thing that makes any day better: Jesus music!!!

The camp food I can’t wait to eat is… I heard there may be gluten free funnel cakes at carnival!

Item that I MUST bring to Camp with me: My bow!

My go-to pump up song: That’s soooo hard! Probably Symphony by Switch or Split the Sea by Hannah Kerr, but really any song on any of my 35 Spotify playlists lol!

The best book I’ve read this year: The Danger Never Sleeps series by Lynette Eason

My guilty pleasure: getting comfy with a good book, some chocolate, and a hot drink, and not moving for a good long while :).

I wanted to work at Greystone because… It combines so many things I love!! Jesus, camp, archery, farm activities, and much more!
