11 Years as a Camper

2nd Year on Staff

I’m an Orangeburg, SC native and grew up spending my summers at Greystone. My first year as a camper was 1995, and it’s crazy and fun to see how much camp has changed since then! I had just finished first grade and went to the June Session for 3 weeks. At first I was homesick, but on the last night at Banquet I cried because I didn’t want to leave!!! In the years that followed, my two younger sisters, Susan and Emily, were also campers with me - my whole family loves Greystone! I’m super excited to be on staff with my sister Emily at Junior Camp this year. Sometimes people think we are twins, but we are almost 6 years apart! I last worked on staff for the full summer of 2007, and Emily was still a camper then!

Currently I live in Charleston, SC with my husband, Justin, and our dog, Griff. Justin has been to camp and loves Greystone, too!

College of Charleston is my alma mater, and I studied business and accounting. I’m a licensed CPA and am the Controller for a small family-owned real estate company, but working at Greystone is far more exciting and fun! It’s truly the best place ever!

Personal Interests: Boating, Beaching, Dancing, Photography, and Gamecock Football…Go Cocks!

Best camp tradition? They are all great! Vespers, Stumblers, Banquet, Decade Dance, Breakfast Club, Council Fire, Flag, Whites on Sundays, and so many more!

Item that I MUST bring to Camp with me: My Bible and a journal

The one thing that makes any day better: Ice Cream!

I wanted to work at Junior Camp because… I miss Greystone so much and have always wanted to help at Junior Camp. I finally had the opportunity to take a break from work and jumped at the chance! Sharing and serving and giving back to the place that gave me so much means the world to me!

The best thing about camp will be… Being back in the most magical place with some of the best people
