Welcome to the Year-Round Team, Emma and Mary Gray!
Introducing new members of our year-round team is one of our favorite things to do, and today, we have not one but TWO incredible people for you to meet.
This time is extra fun because if you were here for summer 2026, you’re already familiar with their faces! Emma and Mary Gray officially started their year-round jobs at the beginning of September, and they have already added so much thoughtfulness, fun, and camp smarts to the office. Keep reading to learn more about them and what they’ll be working on this year!
Emma Holbrook - Staff Director
Emma graduated from seminary in May and came straight to North Carolina to join us for the summer! While she’s new to Greystone, she brings plenty of camp experience to her role as Staff Director. She’ll spend her time this fall interviewing staff and preparing them for our next best summer ever!
What made you interested in working at Greystone? Greystone has a wonderful reputation in the camping community, and when I heard a job had opened here, it was a dream come true. This place, its people, and its mission are truly outstanding. It was clear from the beginning that this team is dedicated to living out the mission through every facet of Greystone. This place is the real deal, and I had to be a part of it!
The part of my job I’m most excited about is… meeting all of the summer staff! My first weeks of work have been… full of learning more about Greystone, walking around camp, and enjoying time with the best team!

Favorite camp meal: The chicken sandwiches with honey mustard, for sure.

Mary Gray Speakman: Staff Experience and Community Coordinator
Mary Gray is a lifetime Greystone camper, counselor, staffer, and Group Leader, and we are so lucky to have her on our year-round team now that she’s finished her post-grad year in the Fellows program! She’ll be working on all kinds of projects to support and connect our campers, counselors, and year-round team.
What made you interested in working at Greystone? Working at camp for the past 5 summers has been the greatest joy, and I wanted to share in making the magic of camp happen year-round! Greystone has impacted me so much and is just so dear to me, and I can’t wait to continue being part of this incredible community.
The part of my job I’m most excited about is… Connecting with prospective staff!
My first weeks of work have been… Incredible! I feel so lucky to be a part of such a fun, supportive, and welcoming team. And getting to be at camp every day is a dream come true!
