Despite the groundhog’s prediction, spring feels like it’s just around the corner, and that means you’ll be packing a trunk and heading up to Greystone before you know it! Here in Tuxedo, we have been planning for summer 2026 since September, and we could not be more excited for the way the Lord is starting to bring all the details together.
You’ll start hearing from us more throughout the spring and as your daughter’s session approaches, but in the meantime, we’d invite you to start praying for her experience at Greystone this summer. There are so many ways to pray once the summer has arrived, but we know the Lord is already at work, and we can join Him in that conversation even before Opening Day.
We know your to-do list is bursting at the seams already, and this shouldn’t be an added task! But when you think of it, know that your prayers are joining with ours and so many camp families who are also anticipating the summer ahead.
If you like to have a plan, you can go ahead and decide how you will pray for your daughter’s time at camp, starting now and continuing until Opening Day. Here are some suggestions to get you started:
Pray that your daughter would grow spiritually, socially, mentally, and physically while she’s here. Pray for God to be real to her while she’s at camp, for the counselors and ministers who will be giving devotions and leading worship, and for her to know Him and love Him more on Closing Day. Pray for the friends she’ll make, for her cabin to be a warm and welcoming place, and for deep friendship roots that will last all year. Pray for courage, curiosity, and a positive, resilient mind as she tries new things. Pray for good weather that will set the stage for lots of playing outside and resting well at night.
Start praying for the remarkable women who have committed their time and efforts this summer to love and care for our campers. Pray for stamina as they finish their spring semesters, for peace and confidence as they prepare for the job ahead, and for joy, energy, and lots of patience as they embark on a fun and growth-filled summer. Pray for our Kitchen Staff, Nurses, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Office Staff, and for all the teammates who are working hard to make the summer happen.
Pray that our mission to delight and inspire for the Glory of God would be evident in all that we do this summer. Pray that our days would be defined by fun and laughter as we enjoy the Bubble. Pray that this summer would inspire growth, connection, and love for the Lord and each other. Most of all, pray that God would be glorified in all that we do!
Pray for all the details that are coming together to make for a great summer ahead. Pray for cabin placement, Penpal connections, and wisdom as our parents talk to their daughters about the summer. Pray that each girl would feel peaceful and excited about her time at camp. Pray for safety and wellbeing for all of our campers and staff, from the first Opening Day to the last. We know the Lord is in the details and He cares for each girl and each family, and we pray with that confidence.
Sometimes the most specific prayers come to us in the moment, so keep your eyes and ears out for chances to pray for your daughter’s camp experience throughout the spring! Say a quick prayer on the car ride home from school when a camp question comes up. Pray when you get a camp mailing or when your daughter wears her Carnival shirt. Pray while you’re filling out your spring forms or putting that first Penpal letter in the mail. We always love keeping a note of specific prayer requests to look back on later to see the way they were answered!
Greystone has a huge community of parents who will be praying for summer 2026 right alongside you! Reach out to a fellow camp parent in your town to see how you can be praying for her daughter or email a mom from your daughter’s cabin last year. The Parent Facebook page can be a great place to connect with other parents as the summer gets closer! New parents, look for more chances coming in the spring to connect with returning camp families.
No matter how and when you pray, we know that the Lord is listening and delights in answering our requests. We know He cares about each girl’s camp experience next summer, and we do too! Our year-round team is already praying for your daughters. If you have specific requests or ways we can pray for your family, please let us know - it would be a privilege to pray for you!
