Introducing Tubing at Main Camp!

Hey Main Campers, have you heard about our brand new experience just for you this summer? You asked for it on your surveys in 2019, and we listened. That’s right - we’re offering Tubing at Main Camp this year!

Are you cheering? We thought so! And if you’re still saying, “huh?” read on to learn about how Tubing is going to make all of your dreams come true this year.

What is it?

This year, we’re offering Tubing as an extra-fee activity that you can choose to sign up for through your camper Forms. It’s a one-time experience that you will enjoy in the afternoon as you float down the Green River with your friends.

So what exactly will we do?

We’re glad you asked, because this is where it gets really cool! You’ll join our Thunderhead crew at the Ranch for lunch cooked over an open fire before having a little time to explore the property. After that, it’s time to hop in your tube and start your float!

You may not know this, but the Green River runs from the Ranch to our central camp property. That means that in just a few hours, you will tube straight back to Greystone and re-join the rest of camp!

Paint the picture for me. Why will I love it?

SO many reasons, but we’ll name just a few. It will be…

• Relaxing. The river carries you along, and all you have to do is sit back, enjoy the sunshine, and laugh with your friends. This is your chance to take a break from the normal routine of camp and put your feet back in the water!
• Adventurous! You’ll get to explore a part of our area that few campers have in the past, and get a unique view of our incredible part of the country. You never know what kind of scenery and wildlife you’ll see on your trip - every group’s float will be different!
• Quality time with your cabin. We’ll be assigning groups based on your age and family groups (your upper and lower from your cabin), so you know you’ll be floating with people you love. It’s the perfect time for a DMC or just laughing a lot as you experience the Green River for the first time together.
• A chance to mix-up your routine. We all love the camp schedule, but sometimes in 5 weeks, it’s nice to do something a little different! On your Tubing day, you’ll skip your regular classes and spend the afternoon on the river. It’s the mid-camp break you always crave!

Okay, I’m sold. How do I sign up?

Main campers can sign up for their Tubing trip under through the “Extra Fee Activities” form in your camp account. You’ll find it along with all of your other Forms. Spots are first-come, first-served, so sign up today!
