The campers won a prize at EP last night: a special breakfast today! Wear costumes to dining room (if you want), Group Leaders forced to wear unicorn costumes, Krispy Kreme donuts for everyone, and camper control over music for that meal. They came to Flag in high spirits (and impressive costumes). Their excitement will continue throughout the day because tonight’s EP is a favorite: Carnival! Inflatable rides, junk food, and a camp-wide dance party add up to pure delight in this community, and we embrace the spirit of the evening without reservation. Carnival Al brings everything he’s got in the warehouse. He spends two days dropping off trailers and rides so that he can have everything ready to go by dinnertime. So much fun!

All this fun will take place with almost perfect weather. The rain has moved out and been replaced with blue skies, fluffy clouds, 80-degree temperatures, and a chance of afternoon showers. These perfect conditions will continue for the rest of the week, assuring a glorious ending to a glorious summer.

Next month, we will open enrollment for 2027. Now is a good time to think about your plans for next summer, assuming that your busy schedules allow August Camp to fit the family calendar. We know it is hard to fit camp into busy schedules but we hope every one of your girls will return. They are PERFECT campers, and the thought of seeing them again fills us with joy.

For 2027, August Camp will be open to campers who have completed grades 1-7. We added the seventh grade as a part of our new enrollment policy (we updated the policy in January). The new policy guarantees enrollment for every camper, but is more restrictive (campers have a guaranteed spot in their current session and may request to change sessions if they wish). We will do our best to accommodate moves to other sessions, but will only do so on a “space available” basis. This will lead to a better camp experience, but it might be an inconvenience for some. We made the change reluctantly, but it was necessary.

Greystone has remarkably high re-enrollment rates, and this makes it impossible to guarantee session switches for anyone other than the graduating grade group. This is how other camps manage their enrollments, and we think it will work well at Greystone. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we do our best to accommodate your particular needs. Please know that we will do our best, for we consider you to be family.
