The silence of camp is almost oppressive after the campers leave. The change is too abrupt… At 10:00 we see, hear, and feel the impact of a vibrant community; at 11:00 it feels like a ghost town. We miss your girls already, but are happy thinking about the joyous reunions and car rides home.

You are hearing about the cabin (the personalities of each person become known slowly over the week, by now they know eachother well… warts and all!). You are hearing about activities, puppies, favorite counselors, meals, desserts, evening programs, and breakfast club jokes. The stories slowly add up to a colorful tapestry that when seen from a distance give you an impression of what it was like to be here.

It is impossible to fully understand camp if you aren’t here, but the conversations with a camper are a good place to start. The older the camper, the more poignant the telling. Main campers tear up and have few words… they can’t put their feelings into words at first. Gradually the stories are told and with them the delight and the authentic connection that were theirs for the short time they were at Greystone. For the rest of their life they will think fondly of this time. It is what makes camp good.

Thank you for allowing this experience for your girls. Thank you for supporting our camp. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it… You are the BEST! We are grateful.

We welcome your feedback. Returning campers… What did they think? Best summer ever or do they wish something was different? New campers… same thing! We read every survey and use them to get an accurate picture of how we are doing. We try new things every year and keep some things the same… in the hopes that we continue to provide a delightful and inspirational camp experience. That God is glorified. Thank you for helping us get better!

Safe travels, we hope to see you again soon!
