June 1 2025

It is hard to believe that June Camp opens tomorrow. Our first session of 2025 was marked by an unexpected combination of circumstances that led to a surprisingly perfect (and very memorable) Junior Camp.

The weather was challenging (cool, cloudy, and rainy) for both campers and counselors, but they entered into camp life with great day attitudes (marked by big smiles) no matter what. The program was fun, the food exceptional, and the spirit of camp was sweet. This might have been because my sister, Katie (the Junior Camp Director), will retire from camp work this year. She started Junior Camp many years ago, and I think The Lord honored her efforts with a combination of difficult weather, loving counselors, and sweet campers that made this year special. We will miss her next summer, but will remember this year fondly. EVERYTHING was amazing! Each day was better than the day before, convincing us that this summer is going to be special.

If you are reading this, you are essential to June Camp. Campers who read this blog are the most enthusiastic campers we have. You are leaders in this community, and your impact can not be overstated. Parents who read it are passionate about camp and want to know all the details so they can talk “Greystone” as you make your way to camp. You are also our Prayer Warriors, who pray daily that Greystone will glorify God in a meaningful way this summer. Alums who read it are fanatical camp fans and deeply support our mission.

We appreciate every one of you and thank God for your interest and your support.

So let’s get going!

A few things to celebrate on this beautiful day:

  • The Forecast! No More cold, cloudy days, rainy days… that weather pattern moved out, and it looks like a beautiful week of sunshine is going to kick off this session.
  • A GREAT Junior Camp! Such a good start should be celebrated and the glory given to God for giving us such a wonderful session.
  • A GREAT Staff! Our staff is excellent… some have been here for almost two weeks, training for the work ahead. All have committed wholeheartedly to our mission: To delight and inspire for the glory of God. They chose to spend their summer working very hard because they wanted to do something that mattered (they all understand the impact and benefits of camp for the girls).
  • June Camp is FUN. Three weeks will feel like walking into a much-anticipated banquet feast… Our eyes are wide open, and we are smiling as we think of the days to come. **
  • Food… Gervais will be baking scones and fresh bread, smoking turkey, making pasta salad, and bolognese sauce for dinner… You are going to love his efforts!

Drive safely.

If you have any questions, just ask. We can’t wait for opening day tomorrow!
