Carnival was a huge success last night! By now, you have been able to see lots of photos of the fun we had together-laughing and playing on the rides. The FORT was set up as a food court and first aid station, and the girls danced their way around as they visited the various stations. The rides were a big hit, particularly for the last hour of the program. We enjoyed several really fun group line dances to end the event. After we dismissed, the girls went back to their cabins for an extended warm shower time as they got ready for bed. All slept well after this exciting night.
Jimboy discussed Physical Growth at Breakfast Club this morning. These girls get A LOT of exercise (they walk almost 5 miles in a typical day) and they respond beautifully to it! This is one of the reasons they feel good at camp, so we encourage them to continue living the “Great Day Way” when they go home: exercise, eat good food, be thankful to God, and sleep well. This is the Great Day philosophy of growth.
It is cool and rainy this morning, but the girls continue to delight in the day. We focus on the good part of life, not the hard parts, so while it might be cooler than we prefer, we focus on how nice it is to have warm clothes. Classes have a rainy day plan in place, but often the plan is not needed as rain is seldom steady. No matter what, we will practice our Great Day attitude. If it is rainy, we focus on how nice the rain sounds on the roof or how much fun it is to splash in mud puddles. There is always good in every situation; it is a matter of response, not circumstance. Learning this lesson and learning this response is a big part of the camp experience!
Breakfast: Pancakes, Sausage Links, Cereal, Breakfast Fruit Bar

Tonight’s dinner is our Birthday Ball celebration! We have five girls at Junior Camp with birthdays this year. On their actual birthday, we greet them in their cabin first thing in the morning with doughnuts, a birthday crown, and party favors for the whole cabin. They love being celebrated all day long. At our Birthday Ball, we will honor these girls with a special meal, table decorations, and a gift. The Kitchen is serving our famous Cheesy Chicken, Pasta, Green Beans, Salad Bar, and Fresh Baked Bread. We will have Iced Cupcakes for dessert to celebrate our Birthday Girls!
EP: GAMESHOW! The girls will enjoy watching their counselors participate in fun games onstage - it is always a hit with the campers!
Thanks again for reading and for trusting us with your girls. They are delightful!
