Statistics of the Summer

Summer 2019 was, in so many ways, our biggest and best summer yet! We’d been planning on a blowout summer for years and it did not disappoint. We’ve shared tons of pictures and have told many stories via the blog and social media, so I thought we were due for some cold hard numbers. I’m going to let you in on a secret - I LOVE of all things statistics and numbers. It did my AP Stats-taking, Excel spreadsheet-loving brain good to zoom in on some of the facts and figures that make up a summer, and I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoyed uncovering them!

1999 campers over the whole summer - each one of them made this summer so special!

1768 likes for the most-liked photo of the summer on Greystone’s Instagram - the 100th numerals that we made on Opening Day of June Camp. June campers - anyone spot yourself in that 100?

80 different classes offered. I don’t know how our campers could possibly narrow it down.

170 acres of Greystone’s main campus, which doesn’t include Thunderhead or Bear Mountain.

Seven brand new events we’d never done before. #tbt to Juneapalooza and Cheerleading Tryouts!

49 Breakfast Club jokes. Unfortunately, I don’t have a statistic for the number of talking animals featured throught the summer.

209 different lip syncs. That’s a LOT of woahs being hit.

13,500 loaves of bread over the whole summer. Thanks, kitchen staff!

2,000 is the average number of photos posted to Campminder a day. Thank goodness for Waldo!

3000 was the estimate of letters sent the day after the Fourth of July. We think it may have been a new Greystone record.

36,663 page views to the blog during the summer - including 180 from Italy and 95 from Chile!

2,100 glow sticks ordered for summer dance parties

Three HUGE fireworks shows.

What a summer! Any statistics of the summer you would want to know? Let us know in the comments - we might just be able to find them for you!
