Love on your Penpal - April Love Challenge

We are winding down our Love Challenge over here – only two more months! If you haven’t participated in any of our past months, check them out and jump in today!! It’s a great time to remember everything we learned about Love last summer, even when we are so close to next summer.

This month, we have Penpals on the mind; for this Challenge, we encourage you to send something special and thoughtful to your Greystone Penpal. What better way to show your Penpal love than by making them feel special with mail from you. [For those reading without Penpals, why not send something to a camp friend or past counselor?]

We love Greystone Penpals at camp! Our theme verse last summer says that “love is kind” – so true! One way to show love is by being kind to those you may not even know yet…like your Penpal. We hope all of you will jump on this Love Challenge!

Need ideas of what to send to your Penpal? We can help!

  • Last year, we shared a great blog on How to Write the Best Penpal Letter – check it out and snag a few ideas from it…a great place to start!
  • Send our fill-in-the-blank postcard quiz that came in your Penpal letter, asking her questions you want to know. Add a question of your own if you want to know something that is not on there. Your Penpal can then fill it out and send it back!
  • Draw a picture of the two of your at camp together – you can add in fun things like your trunks, your backpacks, or even the two of you participating in a class together.
  • Send her a list of the top 10 reasons you’re glad she’s your Penpal – it will make her day!
  • Work on the Bucket List items that came with your Penpal letter. Have you told her your funniest joke? Connected in a way beyond writing letters?
  • Want to go above and beyond? Consider sending a little gift in the mail. Need suggestions? Stationery she can use at camp, fun pens, nail polish, coloring pages, notepad, small gift card to a place you think she’ll enjoy…the possibilities are endless!

Surprise and delight your Penpal with a fun and thoughtful letter this month. What a great way to shower love on a friend from Greystone. We look forward to seeing all of our Penpal pairs at camp this year!
