The Eight Things We Miss The Most About Our Campers

Campers, it’s been a few months since we last saw your smiling faces and we miss you every day! As we get the countdown started to our 99th summer (WOW!), you are the ones we’re thinking about and praying for the most. When I look back on summer 2017, I narrowed it down to eight things I’m missing about you all right now…

1. Your smiles.

It’s impossible to have a bad day when you see 500 smiling faces all day long!

2. Your dance moves!

I’m always amazed at the dance moves I see at Carnival and things like the Dance Battle. Greystone girls can break it down like no other!

3. Watching you care for one another.

Whether it’s helping get jobs done in the cabin or supporting a friend when they’re in the Mini Talent Show, Greystone girls are always finding ways to love eachother well.

4. Listening to everyone sing together.

From the silliest of dining hall songs to the sweetest of worship music, it’s always beautiful to hear everyone’s voices together.

5. Hearing your laughter all around camp.

In a community that’s so close, even the smallest funny moment can cause side-splitting laughter with your camp besties.

6. Your camp fashion statements!

No one other than a Greystone girl could manage to not only look great in an animal tee, socks and Chacs, and a bucket hat, but also turn it into a trend.

7. Watching you grow.

It’s impossible to come to camp and not grow in multiple areas of the Four-Fold Way. It’s such a privilege to watch the growth that happens through trying new things and having new experiences each summer.

8. The constant reminders of what’s most important.

I’m always amazed at the priority placed on relationships rather than “stuff!” What a great lesson to take into the real world!
