August Camp

We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our last campers of the summer; a summer that is proving to be one for the record books. August Camp is like the iceing on our camp cake… sweet and the perfect way to finish a great year. I love August Camp for several reasons: The Campers (so very excited to be at camp after a long summer of anticipation), The Counselors (so very skilled at this point of the year… we have been teaching high schoolers for the last month!), and the Finish Line (summer always has an end, that end is our finish line and we can consider our race run).

We have been taking a couple days to recover from our Main Camp marathon and for a camp counselor a couple days is like a month! We are sleeping a lot, getting a little exercice, eating ice cream, watching movies, and reading books. We will gather again on Sunday morning to get ready for our last opening day… and I am ready for it to begin!

On Opening Day, be aware that we do not open the camp grounds until 7:30. The bunk run will not happen until 8:30… this is a new schedule this year and makes the Opening Day morning slightly more relaxed. We have information tents set up and the Group Leaders will be waiting to answer any questions you might have. Once the girls run up the hill, the fun will officially begin!

We will be taking lots of photographs, I will be blogging every day… you will be able to enjoy a glimpse of this little corner of paradise. We love camp. Ninty Seven years has never passed so quickly nor so sweetly… August Camp will be sweet indeed!
