And We're Off.....

Opening morning of Junior camp was a HUGE success! Beautiful weather welcomed all of our campers and parents…it was crisp, but not cold, with a cloudless sky. Perfect camp weather for sure! Arrival was smooth, and I hope that each one of you enjoyed the coffee and scones on the dining hall porch. We enjoyed meeting many of you and seeing old friends as well.

Camp is off to a great start! Our morning assembly was wonderful. We can tell how well mannered your girls are by their perfect behavior in the Pavilion, which is where we do our assembly’s and evening programs. At assembly, we had introductions from our head staff and program staff, and talked about all of the fun activities that we have planned for the session. My mother, Libby Miller, also read the Bible verses in the Pavilion with the girls, which is a Greystone tradition the first day of every session!

The girls left our assembly for cabin pictures, swim and health checks and then on to our delicious lunch. They sat in the Dining Hall with 8 to a table….we try to mix it up so that they meet new friends. The girls will sit with their same table group for the whole session. For lunch we had a very kid friendly meal of chicken tenders, tater tots, salad bar and fresh baked brownies. Dinner will be our traditional Greystone spaghetti (though for this session we serve spiral pasta instead of spaghetti as it is easier for the younger girls to eat), salad bar, fresh baked bread and dessert. We have delicious food and are so thankful for our kitchen staff!

We will have a calming evening program for tonight. After the three activities that they will have this afternoon, they will be very tired! Pet show is always fun! My mother, Libby will start their devotion time after the show, and then the girls will head back to their cabins for a good nights rest!Thank you for sharing your daughters with us this Junior camp…..we are going to have the BEST time!

Have a great day, Katie
