Opening Day, Junior Camp 2011

WOW…the BEST opening day EVER!! Not only was the weather beautiful, the campus gorgeous, the famous Greystone scone’s delicious, but you parents made this the smoothest opening day ever! Your girls are just precious!! After you departed, we had our opening assembly with all the campers, counselors and program staff. I LOVED seeing their smiling faces and their manners were terrific as they listened attentively to introductions of the staff and activities. We followed the Greystone tradition of reading the Bible verses around the pavilion….something that Greystone campers have done on the first meeting of each session in the pavilion for over 90 years.

The girls are now touring around camp, having their first cabin pictures taken, and getting to know each other. At noon, we will gather around the flag pole to learn where their spot at flag is, then we will dismiss to the dining hall for our first meal of the summer. For our first meal we always have a very kid friendly meal of chicken fingers, salad bar, tater tots, homemade bread, apple sauce and brownies. We will then break for REST HOUR (everyone is excited about that)!!

Classes will start this afternoon…the girls can’t wait! Waterpark seems to be the favorite judging by the cheers that went up when that activity was announced!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful girls with us. We are ALREAY having a GREAT time!
