What is going on at Greystone?

Hi friends! This has been a fun week. Last weekend I volunteered at a camp called Camp Bob. It is at the Kanuga Conference Center. The weekend camp was for the Henderson County Young Leaders Program. This is a non-profit for Henderson County children who would otherwise lack such opportunity, the Henderson County Young Leaders Program provides a progression of residential camp, mentoring, and monthly education experiences.

Interesting fact, Western North Carolina has the highest concentration of summer camps in the country. Wouldn’t it be so sad to grow up here and never have the chance to go? The HCYLP partners with the schools and the Boys and Girls Club to find students that show potential leadership and who are not likely to be able to go to camp. It was awesome! Along that same line, Camp Greystone is holding an event October 9th to support HCYLP. It is a BBQ Competition called Future Legends of BBQ and at night there is a Barbecue Ball. If you live locally or semi-locally and would like to be a part of either event, email me! kelly@campgreystone.com

I am also including something that I think is SUPER cool. As many of you know (or maybe don’t know), Catherine Lee, camper from 1997-2006 & on staff for the past 3 summers, plays softball for the University of Missouri AKA Mizzou. They went to the college world series last year. This video recently popped up and I thought it was awesome. See if you can see Cat in it. I know I did!

Random FACT: We took over 80,000 photos this summer. I know because it was part of my job to go through them and sort them. I picked out some to share. I chose Opening Day photos because that is one of the most exciting/insane/awesome/full/nutty days of the summer. Enjoy!

Have a great week!
