About Us

The who, what, when, where, and why of a summer at Greystone, a Christian summer camp for girls.

Who

Camp Greystone has always been owned and operated by the Miller family: four generations of one family who have committed their life work to this camp since 1920. Libby is the senior Director, who boasts a lifetime of summers spent at Greystone. Libby now spends most of her summer teaching Bible classes to the younger campers and enjoying the community as the Grandmother of camper and counselor alike. Her children, Katie and Jimboy, both work at camp.

Jimboy and family on the fourth of july

Jimboy is the executive director and lives at camp with his wife Margaret (our Health Director) and their five children. Jimboy and Margaret run the day to day operations of Greystone, ensuring that camp today is even better than camp yesterday. Katie is the director of the Junior Camp session. Katie lives in Tuxedo, NC with her husband Greg and their five children. The Millers are joined by a group of summer camp professionals who love Greystone and have invested literally decades of their lives to ensuring excellence in every aspect of the camp experience. Every summer this core group is joined by literally hundreds of Christian college counselors who see their time at Greystone as the experience of a lifetime, a chance to invest and impact the lives of the campers.

What

Camp Greystone is an overnight girls' camp, privately owned by the Miller family. The facility shows the benefits of 90 plus years of careful attention: manicured lawns, well maintained buildings, highly developed programs, and “over the top” details at every turn. Girls of all ages (5 to 17) come from all over the world to enjoy summer in the mountains of North Carolina, unplugged from the hectic pace of the world.

Where

Greystone is located in Tuxedo, North Carolina — on the western side of the state — in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lake Summit borders the camp on three sides, framing beautiful mountain views that change with the hour. This is a storybook location that has inspired campers and counselors for almost one hundred years, truly magnificent!

Why

Camp is much more than a job for the people that work here; much more than fun for the girls who return year after year. Camp brings out the best in us all because camp is about much more than just fun. Greystone was founded with a purpose and goal: to provide a community that points up. We live fully and deeply because we live for the glory of God!
