The Great Day Fund

James Franklin Miller III: Nov. 1, 1933 – Jan. 29, 2010

On January 29, 2010, beloved Senior Director Jim Miller, III (Jimdaddy) was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy that has touched many lives.

In memory of Jimdaddy, we have established The Great Day Fund, an endowment fund to provide camperships for girls whose families cannot afford camp. The Great Day Fund will provide camperships to eligible families – both new and current camp families – who are in need of financial assistance.

“It’s gonna be a GREAT day and I feel TERRIFIC!” Jimdaddy

The lessons we learned from Jimdaddy are alive and well in this place, living on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. We never want financial circumstances to determine who can come to Greystone. The Holy Spirit draws some to our community who obviously need to be here and we seek innovative ways to admit them.

Jimdaddy trusted God, did good, and cultivated faithfulness in the Lord– the lessons he taught us daily. He loved to surprise friends with gifts, and always wanted to provide for those in need. We feel that there is no better way to honor his memory than through The Great Day Fund.

We have chosen to establish the Great Day Fund through the Community Foundation of Hendersonville County ensuring that 100% of the donated funds go towards camperships and are eligible for charitable deduction. By establishing a fund in this way, Greystone will be able to offer more financial assistance to families in need.
