First time campers

For over 90 years, Greystone has welcomed new campers into our camp community each summer. These new campers not only like camp; most of them love it, and return for many years. We focus specifically on our new camper families throughout the winter as we assist in making sure you are ready for a wonderful summer at Greystone. You will hear from us in many ways:

  1. All new campers receive our New Camper Newsletters throughout the spring, which help to answer questions and provide additional information that is especially important to our new families.
  2. We send each new camper a New Camper Questionnaire in the spring. This questionnaire allows for your daughter to tell us a little bit about herself, including what she is looking forward to and what she might be a little nervous about.
  3. Each new camper will receive a penpal in March. This penpal gives your daughter the chance to connect with another camper that is coming to her same session.
  4. We mail quarterly Sparks magazines to new campers as well, which provide even more information about the upcoming summer.
  5. Our Parent Handbook, which is mailed in the spring, provides the ins and outs for preparing for camp. From packing information to local places to stay, this handbook is a great resource for "all things camp."
  6. Our Head Counselor pays special attention to all new campers each summer. Whether you have a question before camp or during camp, she is always available to help! Feel free to give our office a call at any time as you are preparing for your first summer at Greystone.
