Camp Greystone is accredited by the American Camp Association.
Davey Mallett has a long history with Greystone. In 1979, Davey started his first year at the Greystone Ski Program on Lake Summit. In 1982 while living in Cashiers, NC, he ran Greystone's ski program on Lake Glenville. In 1986, the ski program shifted to Lake Jocassee where campers would meet and ski. 1989 brought the ski program to Lake Keowee at Greystone's site " Turtlehead." In 1995 the ski program settled into the current location two miles from Turtlehead. In all, Davey has run the ski program for over 14 years with more than 11,000 campers under his guidance!
The Ski Program has changed quite a bit from the 70's. Nowdays, the latest in transportation, ski equipment and private secluded ski facilities make this one of the best ski programs to be found for any camp in the USA!
One of the family
Davey is great friends with the Miller family. Working with Jim and Libby in past years and now with Jimboy, he is dedicated to carrying on the Greystone tradition. He is godfather to Katie's daughter Hanna Kate Warrington and he was in business with Stuart Miller for four years.
He has learned Greystone's high standards in his many years of service and applies that philosophy through the lessons, allowing each individual camper to feel safe, have fun and be ready to try something new!
