Camp Greystone is accredited by the American Camp Association.

At Main Camp, there are three possible programs to choose from:

Greystone Saddle Club

The saddle club is designed to encourage girls to have a fun approach in this sport joining in with other girls and working towards becoming saddle club members. Girls are recognized into the club in each age group and will complete tasks and show a good attitude in lessons and have a true love of horses. Girls will be recognized at council fire for their introduction to the club. If the girls are club members and are interested in eventing they can work towards their eventing patch to help them get into the eventing program option. Throughout the year all members will receive saddle club newsletters keeping in touch with all their Greystone saddle club friends.

We offer this unique program only in our Main camp session. The girls will take riding every other day consisting of two formal riding lessons and 1 un-mounted lesson. All girls will ride in a group with others of similar age and ability. We focus on teaching a good solid foundation, working on safety, control and balance, ensuring our campers have a better understanding of the horse and correct horsemanship. All saddle club riders will be welcomed to participate in a fun show day at the end of camp.

Eventing Program

Must be a solid 6, 7, or 8 rider on our riding ability list.

Eventing consists of dressage, show jumping and cross-country disciplines. Our program provides our riders with the perfect facilities and instructors to perfect their techniques in this sport. Greystone riding is based on this discipline and our horses are out on the event circuit throughout the year preparing for our campers. This is a unique program and is aimed at training young event riders. This is our advanced class and it is important that you are already involved in this teaching style. Although all our riding is fun, this program is very disciplined and will take up a lot of the campers "camp" time. The girls will meet at the barn every afternoon for 5 days per week. They will participate in mounted and unmounted lessons. They will ride more experienced horses and will need to be confidant and dedicated in ALL three phases. They will get to compete in the end of camp show and some will be chosen to ride in our "event" at "Derby Day."

Girls must bring show clothes and have their own helmet and vest.

PRIVATE LESSONS

This is designed for girls who do not want riding to take up most of their "camp" time but still enjoy taking lessons. You may want to sign up for this if you are a new rider and want to try it or if you are a rider who is not interested in the eventing discipline. You can take up to four private lessons through out the camp session. For riders who have weekly lesson at home this is a perfect option for you to continue with lessons while at camp. You can choose what you would like to do in each lesson. You can have a flat and jumping combined lesson, straight dressage, flat lesson, jumping or stable management and horse care lesson.
