Camp Greystone is accredited by the American Camp Association.
When you arrive at Greystone, you will be greeted at the gate by one of our smiling staff members. They will tell you your cabin number and show you where to go. You will drive to your assigned parking zone where we will tag and unload your things then you will walk up the hill to see your cabin! There you can meet your counselor, pick a bunk, and get settled in. Our staff will bring the large items to your cabin; we ask that you carry the little stuff! (Please have all bags clearly marked with your name!)
We recommend you arrive as early as possible (between 8:00 and 12:00) so your daughter will have time to settle in before the afternoon fun. You also might consider shipping any trunks via UPS so the car will not be too crowded. When bags arrive before camp, we place them in your cabin before opening day.
Please feel free to meet the Millers at the reception (9:00 to 11:00) and tour the camp. Our first camper assembly will be at 1:30, parents should plan on departing by then!
Feel free to visit the Health Hut. The nurses will need to check in any medication your camper may have with her (including over-the-counter medications). The Health Hut is located behind the Dining Room. Dr. Margaret Miller and her staff will be happy to discuss any problems and receive any medications. If your daughter is not feeling well, please come with her to the Health Hut before you leave camp.
The Business Office will be open. If you have any fees due or personal allowance money you would like to deposit, the Hostess Cabin is located in the center of camp and is clearly marked.
We look forward to seeing you!
A Few Helpful Suggestions
Please Do
- Confirm the opening and closing dates of camp!
- Plan to arrive at camp as soon as possible on both opening and closing days. (Arrival is between 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Pay attention to the opening day entrance signs by the road (we have a different entry point this year).
- Think about shipping your trunk ahead of time; many old timers choose to do this.
- Return your Travel Information card as soon as you know your plans.
- Pack all your campers things in a trunk or duffle bag, no loose items please!
- Get permission from the camp if you are going to arrive or depart on days other than opening or closing days. Any early arrival to camp must have prior approval and an extra fee is charged.
- On closing day most campers have left camp by 11:00 a.m., If your daughter is flying, plan to take the early flights.
Please Don’t
- Arrive prior to 7:30 a.m.
- Have loose items to unload from the car... these can easily be lost.
- Save a bunk for your friend... this is not allowed. First come, first serve is the fairest way of doing these things!
- Visit camp the Saturday and Sunday before camp opens.
- Ask us for your camper's cabin assignment before opening day. Cabin assignments are a big secret that is not told until opening day.
