The dirty clothes and trunks are barely put away when we sit down and discuss our camp plans for next year. For any parents that think Main Camp might be too long for your child. I would ask you to reconsider. This was my 12 year old's first year at Main Camp. The experience for our entire family was glorious. I would call it a reset for each of us. The "big girl" had time to be alone again and away from the person she claims ruins her life, her little sis. Little sis got to be an only child, something we both enjoyed. Then big sis came home to luxuriate in her camp memories while little sis took life on her own terms in August camp all by her little sis self. We all changed and grew....alone, together, and apart. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Camp and of course to the Miller's who have made such an important contribution to my families life!!!!

Jul, 31 2011 Carolyn said Our daughter does get so much MORE out of Greystone than the fancy ice cream and give aways. If those were the main draw, it would be easy to explain her need to keep coming back. But it is the MORE - the part that is hard for them to put into words - it is the meaningful relationships, the opportunity to truly be herself and find that is wonderful and good and enough. That "good" is an option - that there are older girls (her counselors) that make good decisions and have a rich fulfilling life as a result. That this can come to her in teenage years - especially the latter ones is a blesssing and a gift. And worth the price. Good work. And we sincerely thank you.

Thank you for continuing to do the things that Jim Daddy did for the girls. My other daughter is a Junior Senior and she wrote in one of her letters, "Thank you for not letting me stop coming to camp". She gets what Greystone is all about! More importantly, thank you for taking your job so seriously and providing our girls with very best experience possible! I do have a small request, as a Main Camp newbie, do you have any advice for the parents to assist the girls upon "re-entry". I'm not sure about the other parents, but, I'm not sure how my girl will slide back into life where the "Cat" is named Jack and has never performed on stage, we don't have corn roasts for hundreds of our closest friends and we've never had to take a bus to the skating rink with the girls dressed in eighties gear! Jul, 31 2010 George said Jimboy! I thought I would write you a thank you note yet I feel moved to say this in a public forum. Thank you! I honestly dread my daughter going off to camp… because I will miss her. Yet, it is easy for me to gently place her into the loving arms of you and your family and staff family. I can still miss her; but, she is never apart from me. The morning blog and thousands of pictures is so potent in keeping that connection. I feel as if I too am gaining the camp experience… even though I am not physically present!! The other way I feel connected is to write my daughter letters. It is an act of love. The fact that it takes a few days for a letter to reach her is not important. I know I am sending love and I feel connected… immediately. It is beautiful how that works. Divinity. I believe that where Love is the God of my understanding is also. For me, God does not only love but is Love itself. I believe that Greystone is a manifestation of that Love. Thank you for being willing to share that with us all! It has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, thank you and thank you and bless us all! George
