Farewell

Farewell Main Campers… I can’t believe you are gone.

Time is slipping past more rapidly these days. It is probably a result of my age, but this summer passed in a blaze of memorable moments that quite literally “feel like just yesterday”. The very thought that Main Camp is over feels wrong: surely we have a few more days at least!

But facts are facts. Our 95th summer of Main Camp is now over and it is time to say thank you.

Thank you for making camp so special this year. Thank you for encouraging us with your enthusiasm and empathy… most teenagers would not want a 230 pound 50 year old leaping into their arms to “crowd surf”… but you not only put up with such antics, you celebrate it! Camp is not like most places, because you are not like most people.

My final words of encouragement:

  • Remain Unselfish it doesn’t matter that others do not act that way… Unselfishness works.
  • Remain Thankful why wouldn’t you be?
  • Shine brightly

We love you…
