Apple Hill

The front entrance to camp is remarkable for its beautiful pasture... a lovely pasture surrounded by maple trees that we call Apple Hill. This is the small mountain next to Greystone where some of our most exciting activities are based. Swimming, western trail riding, climbing, the glass bead studio, the high ropes course, and the zip line are all here.

Sailing

Sail with us on beautiful Lake Summit, the large private lake that surrounds our camp on three sides. We sail five sunfish sailboats, five shark sailboats, and even a single man racing sloop to learn on. Enjoy the gentle breezes and warm sun that make an hour on the lake so much fun, no matter what your ability level! Learn the parts of the boat, the rules of sailing, boat safety, and all the fun of this wonderful sport.

Pageant Court

The center of camp is marked by an expansive green lawn, a 100 foot flagpole (a huge cypress pole set by Dr. Sevier when the camp was founded), an amazing 80 foot wide gazebo (built around a 100 year old hemlock tree trunk), and sweeping views of the surrounding Green River Valley and Appalachian mountains. Each morning and evening the campers assemble to raise and lower the flag - it is an inspiration. You will love watching the sun set below misty mountains - everything mirrored in the glassy surface of Lake Edith. It is wonderful!

Canoe Dock

Canoeing and fishing meet on the canoe dock, a focal point for the entire camp. Ever since the 1940's, a favorite spot in camp has been the canoe dock, due to it's functionality (at over 100 feet, it has a lot of space on the water) and it's style (it has a wonderful rustic gazebo that is at the end of the dock, a perfect place to share with a friend). Even if you do not take canoeing, you will love sitting on the canoeing dock watching the sun set surrounded by water-what a memory!

Fine Arts Center

The Fine Arts Center is the most impressive Arts and Crafts facility to be found in any camp! With almost 6,000 square feet of space, the Fine Arts Center offers something for everyone! Basic crafts are not basic at Greystone, as you make projects designed by our extensive crafts staff that are unique every summer. We offer a wonderful silversmith class, where you will learn how to make jewelry from precious metals. Painting, knitting, cross stitch, radio broadcasting, crafts, and ceramics all share this extraordinary facility. At any one time during the day, about 25% of the camp population is hanging out in this wonderful building.

White Hall

Campers have a lot of fun in White Hall.

This is where they get to kick back, relax, and have fun. We have cabin gatherings, private movie screenings, kareoke, and other fun things.

This also where the cooking class is held.

Riding Ring 1

Greystone has an exceptional riding program. We have a riding complex consisting of five instruction rings, including two full-size dressage and stadium jumping rings, a cross country jumping complex, two newly-constructed stables, an audio-video center, a classroom, and outpost locations for trail rides. Over 60 horses and a very complete staff of instructors, assistant instructors, and horse care specialists assure that each day on the horses will be a day to remember.
