May 26, 2010 Hiking! Being outside all day everyday at camp gave me a love for being outside and using my body. I have turned that passion into a quasi-career. I am a hiking guide, speaker and writer. I have a Charlotte guidebook on the shelves, an Asheville guidebook in the works, and a long awaited memoir about my 2 hikes on the Appalachian Trail (the first was when I was 21 and the second was for a women's speed record on the trail). I am lucky to still live near camp and visit occasionally to remember the good ol' days. My camp friends are still my favorite and I am who I am because of Greystone.

Alice Henderson and I shared a llama named Baby who refused to walk. Plus, it rained the entire trip. It was a miserable and uncomfortable experience but it brought our cabin really close together. I still don't like llamas.

Favorite Food Taco in a Bag - genius!

Favorite Tradition Challenge Day. I loved the Odd/Even basketball game and cheering for all my friends throughout the day.

Favorite Evening Program Weird. As a camper I liked all the fun, flashy EPs, but now that I am old, REALLY OLD, I remember all the slow, traditional EPs like council fire and 5-year. I loved hearing Mary play the piano at Vespers as we all headed down to the lake to float our c
