The Great Day Fund

On January 29, 2010, beloved Senior Director Jim Miller, III (JimDaddy) was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy that has touched many lives.

In memory of JimDaddy, we have established The Great Day Fund, an endowment fund to provide camperships for girls whose families cannot afford camp. The Great Day Fund will provide camperships to eligible families – both new and current camp families – who are in need of financial assistance.

The lessons we learned from JimDaddy are alive and well in this place, living on in the hearts of everyone who knew JimDaddy. We never want financial circumstances to determine who can come to Greystone; the Holy Spirit draws some to our community who obviously need to be here, and we seek out innovative ways to admit them.

JimDaddy trusted God, did good, lived richly, and cultivated faithfulness in the Lord– the lessons he taught us daily. He loved to surprise friends with gifts, and always wanted to provide for those in need. We feel that there is no better way to honor JimDaddy than through The Great Day Fund.

We have chosen to establish the Great Day Fund through the Community Foundation of Hendersonville County as a way to cut administrative costs, ensuring that 100% of the donated funds go towards camperships and are eligible for charitable deduction. Since 1982, the Community Foundation of Henderson County has offered people a variety of ways to touch the local community through philanthropic giving. By establishing a fund in this way, Greystone will be able to offer more financial assistance to families in need.
