To Our Dear Friends,
I am writing you with sad news. Last night (1/29/10), my father had a heart attack and passed away. It has been all quite sudden, but we wanted to email you right away to let you know.
JimDaddy had enjoyed a wonderful day, a day that would have been counted as one of his favorites. He enjoyed a breakfast Bible Study with the men at our church, then went to the office, did his work-out routine, sat by the fire and watched a beautiful snow fall on the mountains while listening to music, followed by dinner with my mother. During dinner, Jimdaddy choked and immediately lost consciousness with what we assume was a heart attack. Libby called Dr. Margaret and the EMS; but JimDaddy had already been welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. Margaret and I were with Libby at the hospital. Stuart and Beth were there as well. Katie is on her way from Chattanooga.
A funeral service was held at First Methodist Church of Hendersonville on Tuesday, February 2nd. A reception followed in the Fellowship Hall. JimDaddy did not want flowers; memorial gifts may be sent to Reformation Presbyterian Church. [This paragraph was updated February 9.]
Libby is being strong and is surrounded by family. She will not be available by phone for a while, but will cherish your notes if you’d like to write.
We are sad, but we know that God is sovereign. The Lord clearly orchestrated each detail and we see His hand at work here.
We are thankful for your friendship and support.
Jimboy
